English Riviera Airshow
Great news about the English Riviera Airshow happening 1-2 June 2024
There were funding doubts about the English Riviera Airshow event which led Torbay Council to appeal for help from the community last year. Now funding targets have been reached and the good news is that the English Riviera Airshow will now go ahead.
“On the first weekend in June we are going to see probably the best airshow we have ever had. Everybody has taken up the challenge.”
Carolyn Custerson, Chief Executive, English Riviera BID Company
It costs £250,000 to run the show each year, although it’s claimed that for every pound spent on the event, £15 comes into the local economy.
The English Riviera Airshow has been wowing spectators annually since 2016. Held over two days on the first weekend in June, it is the first event in the UK’s Airshow calendar.
There will be spectacular flying displays including the Red Arrows.
Saturday 1 June:
RAF Red Arrows, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Lancaster Hurricane Spitfire) and RAF Typhoon. Jet Pitts, Catalina, Jet Provost T5 and Bronco.
Sunday 2 June:
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Lancaster Hurricane Spitfire) and RAF Typhoon. Jet Pitts, Catalina, Jet Provost T5 and Bronco.
There will be plenty to see and do on the ground in our event village. Experience the thrill of the rides in the funfair, say hello to the many visiting military expert teams and crews, visit the local craft stalls, and re-fuel at the many food and drink stands. There will be plenty of other entertainment too!
The Airshow is free to attend and is funded by various partners – Torbay Council, English Riviera BID Company and many corporate sponsors, individual donors and many others.
Frequent services will operate around Paignton on both days of the Airshow from across Torbay and further into Devon. Service 12 provides a direct service from Newton Abbot, Torquay and Brixham to Paignton, and the open top double-decker buses will also serve Paignton throughout the day on Service 122.
