Torbay is famed for it’s clear blue waters and golden sands. Surrounded by the steep hills of the South Hams which act as a suntrap, allowing the bay to luxuriate in its own warm microclimate, the fine weather has led to the area being called the English Riviera.

Torquay is a sophisticated resort, with an elegant seafront promenade lined with palm trees, yachts, Italian style white villas and a real continental vibe. There are plenty of pavement cafés, pubs, restaurants and good quality shops plus a lively night life (in pre-COVID times!). There are a host of family attractions which make this a destination that offers something for every one of its 3 million visitors a year. The beaches are of course superb and there are spectacular views from cliff top coastal paths.
